Bits and Bobs

Found this in a recent Donna Hay edition, in there she has four simple cheesecakes - all variations on the one that I have posted. Looks absolutely yummy… yet to try it!

We went down to Blairgowrie for a day trip a few weeks ago and hitched the motor boat up to the car. In amongst all of this, I’d placed my wallet on top of the car, mentally making a note to grab it when we got in. Did this happen? Of course not. We drove all the way to a boat shop to buy a new battery - at least a couple of Km’s down the road, including round-a-bouts and corners. We pulled up and about three seconds later two tradies stopped beside us and handed a black wallet out of their window.. ‘Is this yours?’ I turned a bright shade of red, purple and probably other colours and nearly died on the inside! But seriously… I couldn’t have been luckier! I was winning that day.

I like toe rings…?

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

I recently purchased a HD Hero 960 Helmet Cam. I was amazed at the quality of the video and had a heap of fun filming my mates skiing on various trips, as well as some of my races at the Australian University Games in August. Here is a little sample!

Brunch turned banquet with Hurtzy and coffee beans! mmm…

The Melbourne International Festival of Brass has been running this week and I have had a blast volunteering for it. International artists such as Adam Rapa, Zoltan Kiss, Tim, Urban Agnas, Jeroen Berwaerts and more have graced the stage at the south Melbourne town hall and blown us all away (no pun intended!). Some extremely talented Melbourne artists are here aswell including Greg Spence, Ross Irwin and Tristram Williams. Tonight’s gig with the Ross Irwin Invitational All Star Big Band and Adam Rapa is one definitely not to be missed. Final concert is tomorrow night at 7.30pm featuring various works for brass and organ.

Anyway! Today we sussed out a quirky little cafe down yarra plc. in south Melbourne, just off Clarendon street. It had a great vibe and is basically an old warehouse turned into a coffee lovers joint. Pretty cool! Also bought some brazil coffee beans to try in the machine at home. Photo to come later when I figure out how to upload it…

Embarrassing moment of the day? I timed myself perfectly to drop my iPod shuffle down a drain at uni. Ofcourse this would occur as I was running late to meet a friend for coffee and there was no way I was going to leave it there. Trying to figure out how I would get it back without looking retarded (which comes kind of naturally anyway) I found a long stick and went to the closest shop that sold either blue tack or sticky tape. Turned out to be the chemist so I ended up with medical tape… Same thing! So stuck that to the stick and fished it out. Thank god it was a shuffle as they are tiny… If it was an iPod I would have been screwed…!

The world of Blogging…

So have succumbed to the ever growing phenomenon of online blogging that is Tumblr. I don’t usually blog, and never have before but I figured it is a way for anyone who is at all interested to occasionally check out what I’ve been up to. Don’t worry… no mantras, dramas, essays about bad hair days/girl problems or complaints. It will feature things more along the lines of every day experiences, trips, photos, rad music gigs/songs, quirky coffee places, good eats, and probably some inevitable embarrassing moments that occur daily…etc etc.
